Fall 2022

Offbeat magazine was created in response to a project where student designers were asked to create a publication. Throughout the semester, I designed a word mark for the magazine, along with an identity for the publication as a whole. Offbeat pushes convention aside, highlighting artists who are taking control of their own narrative. A safe space for musicians to share their stories and receive the light they deserve. We are leaving stereotypes and boundaries in the past and reinventing self-expression through the art of music.

Process Work: I began this project focusing on the word mark and creating endless iterations to find what best fit the identity of the publication. From tracing typefaces by hand, to manipulating letters on Illustrator, I was able to customize the word mark in many ways. Below are many phases of the word mark as well as cover and spread iterations.
